Job Description:

This position contributes to Starbucks success by assuming end-to-end responsibility for the strategic vision, value, usability, delivery and performance of Starbucks POS business and non-functional features related store technology solutions. To be successful, the senior technical product manager needs to have a passion for building the right capabilities for our business, store partners and our customers balanced with the analytical rigor to test, measure and iterate to deliver on the best experience and business value.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensures the agile team Backlog is visible, transparent, and clearly shows what the team will work on next
• Drives delivery team to ensure code is packaged and handed off to the integration test team
• Ensures defects encountered during testing cycles are prioritized and quickly resolved
• Partners with release management to develop production roll out schedule and deliver associated feature artifacts. Conducts release verification of features in production
• Drives backlog grooming, breaks work down into consistently small slices, adds appropriate level of detail to items, and identifies work readiness
• Ensures the team understands the customer problem, the success criteria, and how the team’s work connects to Starbucks objectives
• Ensures enough work is always ready for the team – uses data to optimize the amount of work that should be in a ‘Team Ready’ state
• Works with Product Manager to inform the Minimally Viable Product (MVP) and creates user stories and acceptance criteria to deliver customer business value
• Drives the completion of readiness activities to bring the highest priority user stories into ‘Team Ready’ state
• Works with team to identify dependencies, risks, and issues. Manages them appropriately and provides escalation management, if necessary
• Accepts all work of the team – performs user acceptance testing to verify acceptance criteria and customer/operational expectations are met
• Drives optimization and process improvements with the delivery team
• Works with Product Manager and external technology teams to design in-depth technical solutions to business problems or feature requests
• Ensures operational requirements and non-functional requirements are represented and prioritized
