Job Description:
This role reports to the lead manager, Business Analytics and Data Science and will help our partners live up to the Analytics & Insights mission of Decisions Made Better. The data analyst will be responsible for working closely with partners on requests for analysis that come to A&I, assisting in both the technical and non-technical aspects of the work. They will help guide decision making through quantitative data analysis, statistics, and forecasting. They will work closely with other data analysts, decision scientists, and data scientists to solve business problems in support of the Starbucks Enterprise.
Job Responsibilities:
- Exposure and business-applicable experience in several data ETL (Teradata, Oracle, SQL, Python, Java, Ruby, Pig)
- Exposure and business-applicable experience in several analytic languages (R, SAS, SPSS, Stata)
- Big data processing techniques preferred
Job Requirements:
- Exposure and business-applicable experience in several Modeling & Machine Learning Techniques (regression, tree models, survival analysis, cluster analysis, forecasting, anomaly detection, association rules, etc.)
- Retail, customer loyalty, and eCommerce experience preferred
Qualification & Experience:
- BA/BS with concentration in quantitative discipline – Statistics, Math, Comp Science, Engineering, Econ, Quantitative Social Science or similar discipline
- Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities
