Job Description:

Responsible for the development of a communication and engagement plan to drive a positive Sibanye-Stillwater image within the operation for employees and management and at local community level.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop a communication and engagement plan to drive a positive Sibanye-Stillwater image within the operation for employees and management and at local community level
• Communicate effectively with organizations team
• Support the induction of new employees
• Draft articles, VP speeches and overall operational content , aimed at keeping the internal and external target audiences informed within a well-defined communication and engagement strategy
• Develop trust and mutually respectful relationship with internal and external service suppliers
• Build relationships with all internal and external relevant stakeholders which include investors, media, company secretarial and external suppliers;
• Ensure that systems and procedures are compliant
• Constantly review development in the field to ensure effectiveness and alignment of system and procedures to best practice.
• Effective two way open communication with employees
• Advise stakeholders on the most appropriate course of action when decisions relate to communication
• Provide advice and interpretation to relevant stakeholders
• Provide regular information to all stakeholders
• Ensures internal communications such as briefs are distributed to appropriate level
• Identify potential conflict situations and minimize the implications
• Identifies issues for on-mine briefing for target audience/s, monitors distribution, collates and obtains answers to employee queries arising from the briefs and ensure feedback

Job Requirements:

• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre
• B Degree in Journalism/marketing/communication/social science
• 2 years’ experience in a related role preferably in mining industry, of which 1 should have been at a relevant level or experience in a functional/specialist area
