Job Description:

The purpose of this job is to lead skills development nationally within the organization and participate in SETA meetings and other external bodies such as DHET, OCTO and Nationation Skills Development Authority. To provide skills development expertise in policy and practise formulation and associated best practice in order to enable tactical translation and operational implementation, and to ensure adherence to Skills Development legislative requirements and BBBEE adherence by SARS.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Note potential problems and obstacles, accumulate supporting data and initiate actions to prevent or overcome predicted problems as may be identified.
  • Investigate process optimisation opportunities in the context of best practice and improved operational efficiency.
  • Utilise understanding of functional area, legislation and mandate to make recommendations to the functional strategy.
  • Build strong relationships through providing specialist know-how and leadership to others, expressing positive expectations.
  • Plan and report on unit’s outputs, identify possible deviations and problems which may affect outputs and develop and implement alternative plans.
  • Apply the necessary discretion and judgment in making decisions and overcoming obstacles in order to attain set goals and objectives.
  • Select, develop and assess the applicability of methods and techniques to be applied within the functional work unit.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance specific to a complex field and or professional discipline.
  • Monitor and promote the application of governance and required legal compliance in the context of policy and processes.
  • Apply functional area policies in order to enhance unit’s ability to advise business in complex field and or professional discipline.
  • Ensures that quality standards are adhered to and Maintain accurate activity reports

Job Requirements:

  • 8 years’ relevant experience in a similar environment that includes Skills Development Facilitator expeirence
  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7)
