SAMRC Vacancies – Project Coordinator

Job Description:

The successful candidate will have experience in working on large, complex trials that encompass evidence-based interventions and include biological aspects around HIV treatment (or treatment as prevention). They will be responsible for co-ordinating all aspects of the research study.

Job Responsibilities:

• Quality assurance of data
• Recruitment and tracking of participants as needed
• Establishing relationships with stakeholders such as healthcare clinic staff
• Stigma reduction training and intervention delivery as required
• Administrative tasks
• Daily planning and managerial tasks
• Completion of consent and study interviews as needed
• Staff supervision

Job Requirements:

• Speak fluent English AND isiXhosa/Afrikaans
• Familiarity with communities in Cape Town area.
• Be comfortable working with participants who use substances
• 3 or more years of research experience working with substance use, gender and HIV work (including delivery of evidence based bio behavioural interventions)
• 3-year tertiary education/undergraduate degree
• Experience with staff supervision/training
• Have a valid South African driver’s license with current driving experience
