Job Description:

The primary purpose of this position is the repsonsibility for all safety managment matters at the Distribution Center and where applicable all Environmental Management/Complicnace efforts. Frequent independent judgements are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Establish effective safety awareness prgrams for a zero accident culture.
  • Partners with facility management to assess workplace safety needs, creates action plans and makes recommendations to DC Mgr on safety needs.
  • Interact with OSHA, Fire Departments, (EPA if applicable), and other relevant agencies while supervising inspections and providing responses.
  • Maintain and report safety statistics and workers compensation information.
  • Prepares safety policies and procedures in compliance with company, local, state and federal OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Provides various safety related training and awareness programs to appropriate personnel
  • Responds to and investigates all safety, worker compensation, health and environmental issues.
  • Conducts scheduled and unscheduled facility inspections to insure compliance.
  • Maintains all safety (and environmental) files to 100% regulartory agency compliance including all OSHA Log, MSDS, and related technical documentation.
