Job Description: The Vegetation Specialist position requires significant coordination with several stakeholders across the organization, as well as other lines of business. The position requires a strong ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries and engage with a diverse set of stakeholders. This position often requires thorough analysis on complex data models, and creation of customized reports which depict findings and recommendations in clear concise presentations. Job Responsibilities: Electric Incident Report and Escalated Customer Complaint Lead: Facilitates incident investigations, including research and collection of data needed to support responses to CPUC Incidents and escalated complaints. Performs research, compiles findings, and prepares responses on behalf of the VM Department. Support and ensure the quality of contracted Database Management Specialists. Maintain an area equipment inventory and facilitate the completion of timely and accurate reports. VM Data Requests and Miscellaneous Activities:Collects and links data from various sources including databases and data sets provided by analysts outside of VM and LOBs. Validates data integrity, and creates custom reports based on business needs. Ability to pull reports from Arc GIS Online, analyze the report for important data points, compare against previous data points for delta reporting and make this information available for staff Ability to pull and issue work packets and information necessary for field staff from Arc GIS Online An analyst is responsible for managing the various analytical projects that may involve budget, forecasts and special projects. These projects require detailed knowledge of VMDB used with PG&E’s Vegetation Management program including receiving downloads of data from field personnel, transferring data in various computer programs, generating and closing out Work Requests, creating pre-load files, tracking refusals and FACT tags/Help tickets, EC notifications/cases, trouble-shooting the database, printing reports, copying, distributing data, filing reports and performing analyses. The analyst must be able to effectively communicate procedures for use of hand-held computers to field personnel, resolve user problems. Maintain the Project Management Data Base as directed by the PG&E Representative, Job Requirements: Creative problem skills to develop solutions Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, GIS Technology or Environmental Sciences Or equivalent work experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, Visio or similar software Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office tools. Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity 2 years of related work experience Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills Ability to quickly learn the mechanics of the VM Applications and become VM’s subject matter expert on the VM Applications’ reports and functions Experience with MS SQL and Access; including ability to extract and summarize data for reporting purposes. Requires understanding of VM databases, table relationships, and ability to mine data. Basic knowledge of vegetation management concepts, practices, and methods. Typically receives general instructions on new assignments or projects. Receives little instruction on recurring assignments.
