Job Description:

the role will co-ordinate and manage the mining activities and resources within a section to achieve all required targets and to ensure effective communication between all stakeholders and ensure safety
and health of employees.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drafting , reviewing , enforcing of Activity based Risk assessments , Safe working procedures and MCOPs
  • Perform Management Leadership practices.
  • Provide input into the departmental budget.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective / sound communication system within the operation.
  • Model behaviour that is consistent with the Company Vision and Values.
  • Manage the budget for the area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for the generation of cost saving ideas
  • Implement and manage the area of responsibility plan as signed off by the Appointed Manager
  • Ensure that all Mining reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines and schedules.
  • Coordinate, control the preparation and ensure the timeous reporting of production results, records and reports

Job Requirements:

  • Blasting Certificate OR National Certificate Rock breaking Underground Hard Rock Level 3.
  • Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate).
  • A minimum of 3 years’ mining experience as a Shiftboss in an underground environment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Grade 12
  • Certificate Mine Overseers Certificate of Competence.
