Job Description:

The nGAP represents the sixth phase of the Staffing South African Universities Framework (SSAUF), which the Minister of Higher Education and Training approved at the start of 2015 as an initiative to improve the academic staffing capacity of South African universities. The programme takes as a starting point the urgent and challenging imperative to recruit, support and retain black (African, Coloured and Indian) and female academic staff to address their serious underrepresentation at all levels in the sector. It will be a key vehicle to contribute to the transformation of the academic staff profile in disciplinary areas of greatest need.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 70% average for the master’s degree is required. Please attach proof of results in your application
  • At least 2 years’ functional and subject related experience in primary and/or secondary school teaching.
  • MEd in African Languages with specialisation in Sesotho Home Language OR an MA in African Languages with specialisation in Sesotho Home Language plus a postgraduate professional teaching qualification in language teaching methodologies / didactics.
