Job Description:

You’ll support our staff who manage volunteer teams, helping to create a welcoming, flexible and inclusive environment for existing and future volunteers, communities and partners. You’ll help us provide a consistent and good experience for our volunteers and oversee work like recruitment, training and recognition for our volunteer teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • You’ll also become an expert user of our volunteering IT systems, ensuring our staff feel confident and capable to use our processes.
  • You’ll be involved in every stage of the volunteer journey, from recruitment and induction, through to reward and recognition, maintaining clear communication with volunteer managers along the way.
  • You’ll bring a sound working knowledge and enthusiasm for good volunteering principles and practice to the role, plus an understanding of good practice in community engagement.
  • You will be able to demonstrate the ability to adapt your style and tone to meet the changing needs of different teams and people.

Job Requirements:

  • You will have excellent people skills, enabling strong relationships to be built and maintained
  • You will be passionate about the work of the National Trust to deliver its charitable objectives
  • Able to support those managing, supervising and working alongside volunteers.
  • You’ll be passionate about working with volunteers and have a sound understanding of good volunteer management
  • Strong communication skills
  • IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, with good attention to detail
  • Able to build effective and collaborative working relationships with property teams and partners
