Job Description:

Assist the Managing Director to ensure that SAIAB functions effectively and efficiently to deliver against performance targets. Formulate SAIAB’s strategy together with SAIAB’s Executive members. Prepare SAIAB’s Business Plan and Key Performance Indicator targets together with the Managing Director. Oversee and manage all operational aspects of the Institute and their links with the Corporate office of the National Research Foundation, including but not limited to Governance, Risk and Occupational Health and Safety, Finances, Human Resources, Communications, Science Engagement, Information Technology, Technical Services and Administration.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide high level financial and management expertise and insight
• Prepare SAIAB’s Business Plans and quarterly reporting together with the management of SAIAB’s
• KPI targets and performance.
• Manage infrastructure reporting
• Manage SAIAB’s contracts
• Assist Managing Director with rolling out organisational strategy.
• Ensure achievement of operational performance requirements
• Oversee effective functioning of partnership between management dimensions
• Represent SAIAB at relevant leadership meetings and workshops.
• Provide overall support and leadership to the Support teams and their functions[Risk and Occupational Health and Safety, Finances, Human Resources, Communications, Science Engagement, Information Technology, Technical Services and Administration]
• Participate in business process analysis, functionality and process changes
• Primary driver of good corporate governance
• Manage section heads within Support Services
• Policy and procedure development
• Deputise for Managing Director
• Provide information to NRF corporate structures for reporting purposes as well as to our Stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

• Of the 10 years working experience a minimum of 5 (five) years’ experience at a senior management level (demonstrated and proven)
• Minimum of 10 (ten) years’ working experience
• BCom. degree (or equivalent) in Accounting/Financial or Business degree or postgraduate diploma combined with relevant experience at a senior management (leadership) level
