Job Description: Serves as a senior project team lead in coordinating and integrating the planning, programming, development, oversight, scheduling, and overall management of resources for multi-phase projects. Job Responsibilities: Serves as a project manager for range, aircraft, and balloon projects or the launch site focal point and technical specialist for payload projects relative to system design, processing requirements and integration. Serves as a technical specialist in providing engineering expertise and support for space flight operational activities such as suborbital and special orbital projects, launch and landing operations. Keeps abreast of changes and cost variations from design through development/implementation to ensure completion on time and within the designated budget. Performs independent assessments to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of operations and recommends management improvements. Serves as technical specialist for assigned areas such as determining and/or developing project requirements, staffing plans, budgets, support services, schedules, inter-agency agreements, contracts, problem resolution, and statements of work. Serves as a lead engineer in a multi-discipline, multi-support environment responsible for developing, analyzing, and leading flight and/or ground operations for a broad range of missions such as aircraft, rockets, balloons, UAVs, and payloads. Guides and evaluates efforts of team members, engineers, and contractors as necessary to manage technical progress or needs in relation to the established schedule and requirements.
