Job Description:

In this role as a Service Assistant, you will be a core part of opening the Castle to visitors every day and providing a warm welcome alongside our passionate volunteer team. Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of the Visitor Operations and Experience team you’ll be an ambassador for the National Trust and Castle Drogo.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support across the property when required
• Support in the delivery of events at times throughout the year
• Working alongside a big staff team and volunteers in delivering outstanding customer service across the property
• Working across our welcoming and admitting visitors to the property, providing information and orientation
• Supporting the staff and volunteer team to set up for the day, as well as “walking the floor” in the Castle to ensure volunteers are happy and the visitor experience is running well
• Assisting the Senior Volunteering and Community Officer with the day-to-day management of House Volunteers, including producing rotas and briefing notes.

Job Requirements:

• A willingness to learn new skills
