Job Description:

The role acts as the delivery arm for HR services into the respective customer group by providing strategic support to business leaders in making good people decisions across the employee lifecycle. This includes a focus on building strong teams, influencing employee relations and driving the South32 culture.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Guides HR BP Specialists in counselling line on the Employee Assistance Program, in collaboration with ER.
  • Lead, influence and make decisions that improve performance within the team (locally) and contribute to the decision making at the HR Lead Team
  • Input into business strategies, thinking and organisational policies to enable the people agenda across South 32.
  • Co-ordinates and guides HR BPs in facilitating the talent cycle including performance management, talent reviews, succession plans, career development planning and diversity and inclusion in collaboration with Organizational Capability.
  • Guides team in providing assistance on IR principles, legislation and industrial instruments (e.g. enterprise agreements, contract letter of employment)
  • Participate and or conduct negotiations dealing with industrial relations matters, including Enterprise Bargaining negotiations and industrial advocacy services where required.
  • Provide high quality industrial and employee relations advice and services, managing and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Lead, or contribute to, key organisational development and change projects as appropriate, modelling change management in practice and mentoring others in the process to facilitate their development
  • Provide advice and support on organisation and role design, including alignment to the organisation design standard, role grading and remuneration framework.

Job Requirements:

  • Significant HR Generalist experience in heavy industry environment and understands the nature of opportunities and issues faced by large industrial companies
  • Serious contenders will have a relevant degree in Human Resources field or other as appropriate.
  • 5 years relevant experience, with at least 2 at an HR management/supervisory level
    within a heavy industry context
  • Significant experience in industrial relations with a sound knowledge of industrial and employee relations theory, principles, policies and practices
