Job Description:
The Software Engineer I position will be responsible for working with data using knowledge of traditional databases and big data technologies to deliver scalable, cost-effective, accurate and timely data to the business. This involves duties including the following: analyze and design databases within application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team; write effective, scalable code and develop back-end tools to improve reliability and performance of etl processes; maintain and develop automation for etl processes; act as technical liaison between business users and application developers; analyze existing source systems and interpret data on target systems to provide resolutions to any data issues; coordinate with data analysts to validate requirements and create high level design documents; create low level design documents for source systems based on analysis performed and high-level design; validate design specifications against any proof of concept; prepare design for metadata according to etl processes including the physical and logical data models; analyze and develop data integrations, etl tasks, and programs to extract, cleanse, transform, integrate and load data marts or data warehouses; tune databases queries and etl processes; provide root cause analysis for performance issues and suggest corrective actions; and provide support during the integration testing, user acceptance and production deployment phases of projects.
Job Requirements:
- Requires 1 year of experience with Technical Support Engineer, Software Engineer, IT/Data Analyst, or related.
- Requires skills and experience to include: python; Linux; source control systems; ETL process development including informatica power center; big data technologies including Hadoop or pyspark; relational databases including oracle or MySQL; and data warehousing including Teradata or redshift.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
