Job Description:

Under the direction of the Director, you will help run the Strength and Conditioning program at Harvard.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, administer and implement strength and conditioning programs for varsity athletes.
  • Coordinate strength and conditioning programs with related rehabilitation activities developed by athletic trainers.
  • Administer pre-season and off-season fitness evaluations.
  • Provide nutritional guidance for athletes, including information on eating disorders, weight loss, and weight gain.
  • Instill a winning attitude and strong work ethic in student-athletes.
  • Develop and enforce appropriate safety procedures.
  • Design, organize, administer, supervise and implement off-season, pre-season, and in-season sport-specific strength and conditioning programs for varsity athletes. Increase the athletic ability and performance of student-athletes. Motivate student-athletes to strive to achieve their highest potential, keeping in mind their various skill levels. Develop regimens to prevent injuries. Teach proper form on Olympic-style lifts. Maintains appropriate records for each sport/athlete. Implementation requires teaching body mechanics and instructing on technique so that the S&C training not only enhances strength, flexibility, speed, and conditioning but also helps to prevent injuries during athletic participation.
  • Ensure compliance with Harvard, Ivy League, and NCAA policies and regulations, including NCAA policies on banned substances.
