Job Description:

The Coordinator, Student Programs supports the core activities of the Rock Center’s student programming, especially efforts related to the New Venture Competition, the Rock Accelerator, the Rock Summer Fellowship and more. The main responsibilities encompass volunteer management, event planning, communication, program management and administrative activities. The position reports to the Associate Director of Student Programs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the administration and volunteer management of several Rock Center programs including contact with students, managing the application processes, supporting selection and judging processes, coordinating funding processes, and tracking program metrics.
  • Coordinating and supporting volunteer recruitment, event planning, including calendar planning, room scheduling, catering logistics, and vendor management for meetings, workshops, conferences, research forums, workshops, and student events.
  • Assists in drafting letters and communication.
  • Maintain pages of the Rock Center website focused on MBA student programming and assist on the Rock Center Startup Guide as needed.
  • Help maintain the Rock database in Salesforce, including importing and exporting data, running reports, and maintaining data integrity.
  • Work with Rock Social Media Manager on Student Newsletter and Social Media campaigns to promote events and news.
  • Primary project manager to support New Venture Competition programming, including oversight of timeline, resource needs, vendor management and critical tasks; administer judging platform and associated IT stakeholders, coordination with the Social Enterprise Initiative regarding the SE track of the competition; Super Saturday event, NC Finale event and reception.
  • Serving as first-line contact for students and organizations interested in connecting with the Rock Center, responding to phone, email, and walk-in inquiries. Maintains Rock program and event knowledge and serves as contact for inquiries, able to answer questions regarding program/event purpose, timing, and general eligibility requirements.
  • Student club liaison with 7-10 student clubs. Identify areas of collaboration and where Rock can support their efforts in entrepreneurship related activities.
  • Coordinating and preparing electronic communication to constituents, and overseeing distribution of Rock Center information to individuals and internal offices, e.g., the Rock Student Newsletter, program cohort communications, submitting events to HBS community newsletters, etc.
