Job Description:

The Facility COVID Professional Nurse primary responsibility is to support the implementation of roving facility-based mobilisation and delivery of vaccination services in various high volume, low vaccination uptake sites.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure patient confidentiality
• Ensure the tracking of tracing of clients at high risk for severe COVID-19 illness as per various TIER.Net, RfA lists, directories, booklets.
• Ensure that appropriate IPC measures are appropriately implemented at the vaccination site (wearing of mask, sanitizing and social distancing).
• Initiate ART for newly diagnosed HIV positives diagnosed by teams and for those traced from waiting for ART lists
• Ensure screening is done for concomitant diseases which heighten the risk for severe COVID-19 illness
• Oversee the full process of vaccination from registration, vaccinations, post vaccination monitoring and patient access to education and follow up is completed as per norms.
• Administer COVID-19 vaccinations.
• Ensure registers and clinical stationery are completed correctly and consistently for all clients sensitized, screened, tested or vaccinated
• Ensure appropriate vaccine cold chain is maintained

Job Requirements:

• Experience in administering COVID-19 vaccinations and administrative requirements linked to
• EVDS registration and recording
• Driver’s License
• NiMART certified and ART initiation for a minimum of 2 years.
• Ability to diagnose and clinically manage HIV and TB infected adults and children
• 5 years’ experience as a Professional Nurse of which 2 years are within PHC
• Understanding the local political landscapes involved at Facility, Sub-district and District level
• Understanding of HIV and TB clinical and treatment guidelines and protocols for adults and children
• Certificate of completion of the National Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccination Training for
• Health Workers
• Registered with SANC
• Understanding healthcare systems and relationships in resource limited settings
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
• Diploma in Nursing
