Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for Supervisor – Shutdown who will be supporting, identifying, and leading improvements across all major work (shutdown) activities amongst execution teams. The successful candidate will also support and ensure delivery of safe, responsible, on-time and technically sound shutdown work.

Job Responsibilities:

• Managing and lead team performance to attain set business objectives and targets
• Ensuring effective work management during shutdown execution in accordance with the operating model (OM)
• Coordination of equipment and task delegation within teams
• Monitoring and manage overtime of all employees (including contractors) according to BCEA limits
• Managing and lead all health, safety, and environmental efforts – maintaining a visible presence
• Ensuring adequate risk identification, mitigation and controls are in place for all shutdown activities – ensuring that all critical controls are in place
• Ensuring effective performance of all direct reports
• Consistently ensure the application of all safety, health and environmental principals during planning and execution of all shutdowns related activities
• Partaking (attend and provide inputs) into shutdown planning
• Providing inputs into annual budget cycles
• Conducting regular inspections and ensuring legal requirements are formalized and up to date
• Partaking (attend and provide inputs) into effective shutdown scheduling
• Ensuring training and competency verification of all personnel performing shutdown activities

Job Requirements:

• Recognized Trade Certificate N4 (NQF Level 4) – mechanical / electrical
• Experience in maintenance of Open Cast machinery and/or processing plants
• Experience project management will be advantageous
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Mechanical / Electrical engineering in Mining industry
• Valid Driver’s License
• Experience working with ERP / SAP
• Matric / Grade 12
