Job Description: This role will be responsible for design and development of sheet metal, glass, seals, plastic components and mechanisms (Regulator for side glass movement, locks, hinges, Handles etc.) for new and/or current model programs plus continuous improvement by increasing design robustness or through warranty reduction of existing models. Job Responsibilities: Daily use of NX CAD to study and make designs, present proposals and release the new or improved designs. Warranty reduction using root cause analysis techniques. Variation and tolerance analysis at both component and system level Make presentations of ideas and studies to upper management Manage suppliers to develop parts, meet cost, timing and quality targets Manage cost and weight of assigned parts to meet or exceed targets Job Requirements: Strong presentation skills Ability to manage multiple issues and tasks Prior use of CAD system (Ideally NX) Strong ability to visualize part or system and work in a totally digital environment through the development cycle until physical phase. Basic knowledge of GD&T Minimum of 1 year professional-level experience in related engineering discipline. Firm understanding of automotive technology and engineering practices, with a hands –on background in the automotive industry.
