Job Description: Prepares detailed technical designs of moderate to high complexity for additions and modifications to company gas and electric facilities from onset through completion of project. Prepares construction orders with safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs that conform to company standards, safety orders, and governmental regulations. Job Responsibilities: Develops strategies to meet customer construction schedules from conception to completion to install distribution energy systems and services and applies expertise to address business needs/problems. Provides work direction to others relating to the assigned designs and compliance with regulations. Serves as a consultant regarding complex design issues. Possesses and communicates specialized knowledge relevant to creation of electric and gas distribution work orders. Interacts with the customer or customer representatives on an as needed basis to progress the design and resolve technical questions and issues. Conducts field investigations, analyzes the feasibility of additions and modifications to gas and electric facilities. Independently manages numerous, concurrent projects, assignments and activities of moderate to high complexity related to the design of projects for additions and modifications to company gas and electric facilities as assigned and ensures results meet expectations and standards. Verifies customer service load data and demand estimate. Performs engineering calculations and negotiates design details in conformance with company standards and government regulations. Interprets company policies; mediates and resolves disputes about designs. Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties). Job Requirements: 3 years - Progressive experience in roles with responsibilities, activities and tasks/duties that in all material aspects require substantially the same levels of functional knowledge or skills to perform Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Planning or related field or equivalent training and/or experience. Proficiency in O-Calc Pro, SAP, DPSS, CISCO, word processing, spreadsheets and Outlook, required. Demonstrable knowledge of and experience with the interpretation and application of engineering principals, Overhead, Underground and Gas Standards, Design Manuals, Service Planning Manuals, Service Guides and CPUC Rules, required Proficiency in AutoCAD, Geographical Information Systems, required.
