Job Description: The primary purpose of this position is the repsonsibility for all safety managment matters at the Distribution Center and where applicable all Environmental Management/Complicnace efforts. Frequent independent judgements are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. Job Responsibilities: Establish effective safety awareness prgrams for a zero accident culture. Partners with facility management to assess workplace safety needs, creates action plans and makes recommendations to DC Mgr on safety needs. Interact with OSHA, Fire Departments, (EPA if applicable), and other relevant agencies while supervising inspections and providing responses. Maintain and report safety statistics and workers compensation information. Prepares safety policies and procedures in compliance with company, local, state and federal OSHA rules and regulations. Provides various safety related training and awareness programs to appropriate personnel Responds to and investigates all safety, worker compensation, health and environmental issues. Conducts scheduled and unscheduled facility inspections to insure compliance. Maintains all safety (and environmental) files to 100% regulartory agency compliance including all OSHA Log, MSDS, and related technical documentation.
