Job Description:

An opportunity exists for a Night Duty Medical Technician/Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the team at our Kimberley branch. We are seeking an individual with a proven track record of displaying Clinical competence and who has a high level of ethics and integrity while consistently aligning with the PathCare values.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in maintaining QA Systems (e.g. SOP’s, document control, instrument logs)
• Must be fluent in English with an understanding of Afrikaans
• Excellent attention to detail
• Previous night duty experience is advantageous.
• Ability to work under pressure and display resilience and tenacity in a fast-paced, challenging environment
• National diploma/degree qualification or Medical Technician Certificate in Clinical Pathology
• 2 years’ Clinical experience post HPCSA registration (excluding internship)
• Must be proficient in diffing.
• Training certificates for the Alinity, Rapid Lab 500 and Roche Sysmex will be advantageous.
• Effective verbal and electronic communication skills
• Experience with managing queries for internal/external clients
• Advanced troubleshooting ability (including QC and instrument related)
• Must be prepared to work shifts, weekends & public holidays
• Client-focused with strong interpersonal relations
• Knowledge/understanding of the stock management system
• Result-orientated
• Display initiative and good problem-solving skills
• Current registration with the HPCSA in Clinical Pathology
• Computer literate with Meditech knowledge is advantageous
• Ability to work alone
• Experience in technical procedure development and implementation (including verifications and validation procedures for new tests or instruments)
• Must have an acceptable track record/performance record with regard to the technical and behavioural competencies required to perform in this position
• Ability to oversee and train junior staff and students
• Emotional intelligence
