Job Description:
As a Software Engineering Manager, you’ll be leading a squad focused on Consumer Services (CRM), working in Salesforce to provide the best customer experience for our Athletes. You’ll work closely with the Product and business teams to align our strategy, manage budget, and pave the future for nice customer service. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving the team to deliver innovative and quality services that enable a consistent, maintainable, and highly scalable experience. This individual will be an advocate of new technology and development techniques.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver global, innovative technology solutions against Nike’s Consumer Service Strategy, with a heavy focus on the Salesforce platform
- Drive advancements in Dev/Ops such as continuous integration, deployment, and improvement, test automation, instrumentation and observability, SLAs, high-availability, and improvement of ops metrics
- Prepare and deliver performance evaluations and conducts performance management mentorship
- Measure, report, and advance domain and service metrics
- Lead Support and Operations of product in the area of responsibility
- Perform as a technical contributor in providing technical leadership and mentorship to the team to ensure conceptual, logical, and integration designs are built following core engineering and architectural principles that meet the supportability, security, and scalability principles
- Partner closely with Product Managers to ensure that tactics and sequence of technical work
- Mentor and develop other specialists. Develops proficiencies and skills of team members
- Disseminate technical knowledge to the team members on emerging ideas through multiple forums (e.g., user groups, tech talks, design reviews, internal blogs)
- Own the resource plans for the area (right talent and team composition)
Job Requirements:
- Experience in a microservice architecture, domain driven design, and RESTful APIs using languages such as Java or Node
- Commanding knowledge and experience with a diversity of tools and platforms
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
- Expertise in building cloud scalable, real time and high-performance application and solutions
- Authoritative understanding of solution and technical design
- Experience in NoSQL data stores, such as Cassandra, DynamoDB, or similar technologies
- Has a strong problem solving and analytical background
- Proven track record to rapidly learn new technologies, developing and implementing proof of concepts
- 7+ years’ IT or business experience
- Strong skills in team leadership and building positive relationships across Product and Engineering
- In-depth knowledge of Engineering essentials such as languages (Java, Python, etc.), source control, relational and non-relational databases
- Able to influence and communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with team members, business partners and leadership
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other technical areas or any combination of equivalent experience, education, and training
- Salesforce/Apex experience
- 2 years’ experience in a technical leadership role of an application development team, including conducting performance evaluations and the mentoring of technical staff
- Experience with modern build strategies, continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests. Continuous delivery experience preferred
