Job Description:

We are looking for a strong Payments Leader who will be responsible for our consumer payments work in South East Asia. Just as Netflix works to provide the best entertainment experience possible, our team ensures that the customer’s payment experience is best-in-class. You will work with internal and external partners to play an essential role in undertaking day-to-day efforts to increase subscriber acquisition, improve retention, optimize the payment experience and work with a team to develop Netflix payments strategy in the market.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own key payment metrics for the market and derive actionable insights into improving customer experience, performance, and processing costs. Identify optimization opportunities for the payment experience and payment method performance
  • Collaborate with the global payment Partnerships and operations teams to ensure strategic alignment of the global relationships across all markets, when applicable.
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners in Product to identify new opportunities and generate product thought starters to deliver a locally relevant payments experience and product offering. Define the business requirements for any new payment method, experience or performance optimization opportunity in the market.
  • Utilize self-service config tools to refine the payment experience for the given market/region as necessary. Support the testing of new payment product features in the respective markets.
  • Define the Payments strategy for SEA markets, identify opportunities and challenges and create a regional roadmap to tackle them. Act as the informed captain for the partners (issuers, acquirers) / processors / MOPs we offer in the market.
  • Own and manage the relationship with all partners and players in the payment ecosystem for the market such as acquirers, issuers, processors, schemes and payment partners in the region, in various areas such as partner selection, performance, cost, regulatory monitoring, operational excellence, etc.
  • Optimize and fine tune Netflix’s payment processing in the region and work closely with issuers, card brands and PSPs to roll out new initiatives (regulatory compliant recurring payment systems, 3DS 2.x, tokenization, etc.).

Job Requirements:

  • Existing relationships across the payments ecosystem.
  • A payments expert with a minimum 10 years of payments experience, having deep industry and market knowledge of payment processing, recurring billing, digital payments and general ecommerce with strong curiosity and interest in the consumer payments landscape.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfort informing and evaluating technical engineering discussions.
  • Able to remain highly organized in a loosely structured and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and translate identified opportunities into actionable changes.
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills across multiple functional areas
  • Possessing a high level of intellectual curiosity, focused on generating results, and exhibits the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics.
  • Ability to speak about payments trends, consumer preferences, payment regulations, and have experience in the payments industry or in an online business with a focus on enabling payments in ASEAN.
  • Experience and comfort operating with a high degree of freedom and responsibility – motivated, disciplined, self-driven, and able to work autonomously.
  • Ability to engage, listen, and collaborate with internal teams to align from ideation through execution to launch.
