Job Description:
Leading on and positively engaging with local people on the delivery of National Trust Wales’ Coast to Commons project, you will be working with farming communities, schools, volunteers and new audiences to inspire people to take local action to deliver our vison of a healthy, beautiful and natural environment for all.
Job Responsibilities:
- Working as a Land, Outdoor and Nature Participation Officer is varied, challenging and rewarding.
- It is a role you can make your own mark on and you could find yourself showing people the wonders of blanket bog one day to working with schools to create flowery mini meadows the next.
- Your role will be to lead on building relationships with local communities, inspiring people to take action for nature and sharing your love of the outdoors through delivering events, talks, workshops, volunteering opportunities and celebrations.
- You’ll be working in spectacular landscapes across Mid and South Wales from wide, open upland commons all the way down to the coastal meadows of the Gower.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in delivery of nature conservation projects
- Excellent people skills, enabling good working relationships
- Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders
- A positive attitude to Welsh language and culture.
- Proven track record of managing and leading on health and safety
- Ability to multi-task and to successfully handle multiple priorities
- The ability to work well both in a team and on your own initiative, sometimes in remote locations
- Knowledge of Welsh habitats and species
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Practical experience of countryside/rural skills and/or farming a distinct advantage
- Full UK Driving Licence Experience in delivering inclusive community programmes
- Ability to plan, lead and manage an effective, flexible and inclusive community work programme within a project team setting
