FireEye’s comprehensive view of the advanced threat landscape provides a unique opportunity for the team to have major impact within our industry, company, and across our customer base.As a Data Science Manager at FireEye, you will be leading an experienced team on applied research projects. You will plan and then manage the day-to-day technical work of data scientists who are building machine learning (ML) models and working with subject matter experts to improve them. The ability to scope projects, identify and resolve blockers or technical gaps are key skills you will need to demonstrate. Communication is important as you gather requirements and plan for the transition of models to our engineering team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and provide technical leadership for a mission-focused and high performing team of data scientists.
- Communicate with product owners to understand their requirements and ensure data science solutions meet their needs.
- Refine unclear objectives and requirements into a concrete research plan. Manage the day-to-day execution of the plan.
- Collaborate with the Data Science Engineering team to ensure data needs can be planned for and transition of POC models to production goes smoothly.
- Identify opportunities to improve our existing processes and workflow.
- Share our team’s findings with the security and ML community through external publications, presentations and blogs.
- Operate as a thought leader in the security data science community.
- Mentor data scientists to improve their technical and leadership skills.
Job Requirements:
- Proficient using Python, R, Scala or equivalent statistics and machine learning tools.
- Ability to work as part of a remote team.
- Ability to document and explain technical details clearly and concisely (peer-reviewed publications preferred).
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to speak effectively with diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.
- Demonstrated ability to build models on large volumes of data.
Qualification & Experience:
- Knowledge of AWS services.
- Experience with machine learning applications in cyber security.
- Responsibility for machine learning models deployed in production environments.
- Experience with sklearn, pandas, numpy or similar packages.
- B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field (M.S. and Ph.D are preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working in machine learning, with familiarity across a variety of supervised and unsupervised techniques.
- 3+ years of experience leading a team of data scientists.
- Experience with a deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or MXNet.
- Experience with GPU-accelerated computing and hardware (e.g., NVIDIA DGX-1).
