Job Description:
To engage with young people in the facilities and identify adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) most at risk
To facilitate and demonstrate available linkages to sexual reproductive health-related services (including PrEP) at fixed public health clinics and WRHI roving mobile units within the implementation areas
Distribution of commodities including the self-care packages
Job Responsibilities:
- Through different platforms (community events, radio shows, outreach programs, etc. in different settings) facilitate HIV&SRHR awareness, promote the uptake of services, HIV self-screening, and opting in to receive self-care packages
- Provide health talks on HIV prevention and other SRHR issues (including oral PrEP and potential new PrEP methods i.e., injectable Cabotegravir (CAB LA) and the Dapivirine Ring (DVR)
- Supply and distribute project-related IEC materials (including those on HIV self-screening and self-care) on a continuous basis to young people
- Motivating young people, specifically adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), with special attention to those who are usually forgotten, marginalized, and overlooked (e.g. differently-abled), to present for HIV testing and other SRHR services as provided by the project this key performance area is linked to a daily target in relation to the number of AGYW that has to be mobilized for service uptake by a Peer Navigator
- Work closely with the mobile unit team to identify hot spots where a large number of young people are located and not able to access health care services (or where young people congregate)
- Educate and encourage young people in relation to issues pertaining to their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) (i.e. HIV prevention, STI management, Condom usage,
- Contraception/Family Planning, Gender-Based Violence, and Mental Health)
- Implementing the demand creation and social mobilization strategy of Project PrEP both at the clinic and community level
Job Requirements:
- Ability to help young people navigate the public healthcare system, especially accessing youth-friendly services in a rapid manner
- Must be willing to participate in workshops and in the different research projects undertaken by the company
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Energetic and motivated this role requires the candidate to spend Long periods of time on their feet, standing and talking to young people while they are waiting to be serviced, and going into the community to mobilize young people
- Existing knowledge on HIV prevention, especially oral PrEP, and sexual and reproductive health and rights
- Hardworking and dynamic must have a problem-solving attitude
- To engage with young people, AGYW (particularly)in the clinics about the importance of accessing HIV and comprehensive SRH services (including PrEP)
- Ability to connect with young people in a meaningful and youth-friendly manner
- Code 10 Drivers License
