Curro Academy Vacancies – Project Leader

Job Description:

Curro Holdings has a vacant permanent position based in Durbanville, Cape Town for an inspirational, energetic, organised project leader to ensure the ongoing success of the Curro Create stable of creative projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• The Project Leader must be willing to travel quite extensively for the projects and to ensure effective communication with all schools and partners.
• To ensure that the five projects which currently form the spine of Curro Create are presented annually in a way that is fresh, innovative and immaculately organised.
• The Curro Create programmes have been running for approximately four years, and are already well established, but a small amount of refinement and innovation will be required.
• The Project Leader will work with a Project Manager and others who will take care of the logistical side of the projects.
• To ensure that all organisation is completed against clear-cut deadlines, and to ensure that all projects come in on time.
• The five projects are: Masterclasses in all arts disciplines, The #Straight2Camera Monologue Festival, The Curro Create National Youth Theatre Festival, the Advanced Mentorship Programme and the Curro Arts Superhero project.

Job Requirements:

• Proven excellence in administrative discipline and skills.
• Knowledge and experience – a minimum of five years – as a professional theatre maker/ producer/ director/actor.
• A valid driver’s licence and passport will be required. As part of the final negotiations, you will have to be vetted against, among others, the sexual offenders’ register.
• A passion for the arts, and for the advantages of the arts in the lives of especially young people, is crucial.
• Excellent basic computer skills are crucial.
• Previous experience as an arts teacher/practitioner will count in your favour.
• A tertiary qualification, especially one dealing with education or the arts, is non-negotiable.
