Job Description: Led by the Deputy Commissioner for Systems, SSA's Office of Systems (OS) directs the conduct of systems and operational integration and strategic planning processes, and the implementation of a comprehensive systems configuration management, database management and data administration program. A subcomponent within the Office of Systems, the Office of Systems Architecture (OSA), is led by the Associate Commissioner (AC), OSA. Job Responsibilities: In coordination with the Associate Commissioner for Systems Architecture, the Deputy Associate Commissioner (DAC) for Systems Architecture identifies the strategic information technology (IT) resources needed to support Social Security Administration (SSA) business processes and operations. The DAC supports the design, development, and maintenance of SSA's information technology architecture program and directs SSA's database integration activities to improve the administration of SSA's programmatic, administrative and management information databases, and to implement modern database management systems technology. The Office of Systems Architecture (OSA) directs SSA's data administration and management to assure data quality and consistency across Agency systems. OSA plans and directs multi-platform software development facilities to support applications development and validation personnel. Under the leadership of the AC and DAC, OSA designs, develops, implements and maintains automated test methods, test data systems and test utilities used to provide test data management and batch execution services for software testing in the test environment. OSA also manages the Help Desk Initiatives Support Services (HDISS) contract which provides technical resources and support for SSA's standard desktop and laptop software to all SSA employees and contractors through the SSA Technology Assistance Center (STAC). Job Requirements: As a basic requirement, applicants MUST demonstrate progressively responsible leadership experience that is indicative of senior executive level managerial capability and directly related to the skills and abilities outlined under Executive Core Qualifications and Mandatory Professional/Technical Qualification. Typically, experience of this nature will have been gained at or above the GS-15 grade level in the Federal service or its equivalent with state or local government, the private sector, or non-governmental organizations. You must clearly show that you possess the experience and leadership competencies to perform the duties of an executive.
